We have some exciting news for you in our newsletter both when it comes to event announcements and the latest information in the field of digital rights.

The highlights:

2024 Digital Rights Summer School

There is very little time left to apply for the 2024 Digital Rights Summer School in Perast, Montenegro. The School takes place from 25 to 31 August 2024, and this year’s program is designed for enthusiasts based in Southeast Europe, who are passionate about digital rights and eager to learn more about the latest developments in this field. The Summer School is organised by SHARE Foundation, European Digital Rights (EDRi) and Digital Freedom Fund and it offers a unique opportunity to learn from leading experts and network with other professionals in the field. Join us for an engaging program in the beautiful setting of Perast. Accepted applicants will be provided with travel and accommodation during their stay. The application form can be found here: Application form closes on 15 May, 17:00 CEST (Belgrade time). Decisions of acceptance will be made in early June. 

SEE Digital Rights Network Meeting

We are pleased to invite you to participate in a two-day SEE Digital Rights Network meeting scheduled to take place on May 28-29, 2024, in Bjelasnica, Bosnia and Herzegovina. This meeting is organized by the Balkan Investigative Reporting Network (BIRN) and powered by the SHARE Foundation. The meeting aims to discuss the next chapter of our work and outline our collaborative strategies moving forward.The meeting will provide a platform for open dialogue, collaborative planning, and decisive action, and it will also offer an opportunity to network with other digital rights advocates, learn from their experiences, and contribute to the Network’s future impact. Please complete this form to participate and please fill out the self-assessment questionnaire which you can find HERE (due date for the questionnaire is 13 May). Further details regarding the final agenda and logistics will be provided upon confirmation of your attendance. BIRN will cover all costs associated with participation, including travel and accommodation.
